Claims Administration You Can Count On

Expertise and experience combined

Global Excel processes over 200,000 bills per year. We also bring complex plan adjudication expertise to the table to deliver a fast, accurate application of benefits within policy limitations and intent.  In fact, Global Excel was originally created to serve the needs of etfs – our parent company at that time, and one of the largest providers of travel insurance products in Canada. In other words, the importance of proper claims administration has been ingrained in our processes from day one.

At Global Excel, our clients can always trust us to adjudicate wisely and to fully satisfy the high expectations of their underwriters.

Reporting

Our reporting is best-in-class – we’re not boasting, it’s what we’re told repeatedly.

Our corporate clients have access to all pertinent information, and we keep them abreast of program performance. The information we generate for our clients is geared towards helping them make informed choices that can result in better future business decisions.

Our reporting includes:

  • Access to monthly financial and statistical reports via our secure web portal
  • Trend comparisons and claim analytics
  • Ad hoc reports, customized to fit our clients’ needs
  • 24/7 online access to critical claims information via our secure, user-friendly web portal
  • In addition to these reports, each client has a dedicated Account
  • Manager who is available to offer high-level process support and analytics

Online Portal

Our real-time, comprehensive and secure Online Portal allows our clients to obtain the status of their individual claims when they need it.

We believe this provides great value to our clients and allows for a means of quick and efficient feedback for clients who wish to carefully monitor the progression of their claims.

Our highly secure portal includes:

  • Extensive claim lookup capabilities (complete with file notes and reserve histories)
  • Document box functionality allowing for secure access to savings reports (performance reports), checks issued reports, reserve reports, large loss reports, and more
  • An FTP site to ensure secure document transfers
  • Online claim submission capabilities
  • A communications interface

Electronic Data Interface (EDI)

Global Excel currently has a flexible Electronic Data Interface (EDI) that allows clients and providers to send and receive claims and accounting data electronically using the ASC X12N 837 format, which supports both 4010 and 5010 standards.

Quality Assurance

We work in an industry where accuracy is critical – one small issue can become a serious problem very quickly.

Like our clients, we consider it a top priority to ensure this doesn’t happen. As a result, we work closely with our clients to identify potential issues early on and correct them at the source.

As part of our commitment to meet all of our clients’ needs, we work with underwriters to maintain minor complaint logs (Expressions of Dissatisfaction – EODs) and major complaint logs. We also follow protocol by providing all appeals information required by claimants in final coverage letters.

Additionally, our Quality Assurance team monitors processes constantly and regularly recommends improvements to ensure our clients always receive the highest quality of service.
