Hasta 2011, Global Excel operaba como filial al 100% de etfs (Expert Travel Financial Security Inc.). etfs era uno de los principales proveedores canadienses de productos y servicios especializados en seguros m\u00e9dicos y de viaje.<\/p>

La empresa se fund\u00f3 en Sherbrooke (Quebec) en 1984 y, al principio, atend\u00eda a los mercados de seguros colectivos y de estudiantes. Los profundos cambios introducidos en el sistema sanitario canadiense en 1992 modificaron radicalmente la cobertura del seguro gubernamental para los viajeros fuera del pa\u00eds. Estos cambios crearon una oportunidad para que las etfs entraran en el sector de los seguros de viaje individuales.<\/p>

En 1996, la empresa cre\u00f3 una filial:<\/strong> Global Excel Management Inc. (Global Excel). Inicialmente, Global Excel prestaba servicios de asistencia, contenci\u00f3n de costes, gesti\u00f3n de casos y adjudicaci\u00f3n de siniestros a los asegurados de etfs. A lo largo de los a\u00f1os, el n\u00famero de clientes atendidos por Global Excel se ha multiplicado y los servicios ofrecidos se han ampliado.<\/p>

En 2011, etfs fue vendida a Royal & Sun Alliance (RSA) Canad\u00e1. RSA sigue ofreciendo numerosos productos colectivos e individuales orientados al sector de los viajes y los seguros m\u00e9dicos especializados.
